So you don't think Harrell is going to make it? Don Banks has said that the Packers, "have been cautiously optimistic about Harrell's showing so far in camp", I think Thompson is going to keep him around, purely because he doesn't want to admit that this first-round pick was worthless.

ReplyDeleteHarrell has already had to leave practice early this week. They said it was precautionary and due to the heat, but you still have to wonder if he's gonna hold up. Just heard Bigby needs surgery on his ankle and they aren't sure if it's season ending. He could end up on the PUP or IR at the beginning of the season which would open up another roster spot. But Poppinga was my last cut...
ReplyDeleteI do agree that they don't want to cut Harrell loose because of the pride issue. But I think this is the year that enough is enough.
To me:

TE: they keep Lee.
DL: they keep Harrell, don't keep Toribio and Wilson (P.S.)
LB: they keep Obiozor, don't keep Zombo (P.S.)
CB: they keep Bell, keep Shields if someone goes PUP (Harris, Bigby)
S: keep Derrick Martin.
P.S.: those guys, plus Harrell, Charles Dillon, Newhouse and Crabtree.
Suprised you have them cutting Newhouse, I think they Keep Harrell and I think they keep 8 linebackers.
ReplyDeleteAs much as we'd all like to see it, the Packers are not going to cut Jarret Bush, sorry guys. Also, I believe they will only keep 3 RB's (sorry Porter), and that there is no way there are not keeping Derrick Martin. The guy was brought here for one reason, and one reason only, special teams. He's good at his job (just don't let him play safety, please). I could see the Pack cutting Dietrich-Smith and keeping Newhouse, but he might be around for practice squad.
